Design leadership for every stage of your product.

From the first research sprint to a design team that runs on its own — we plug in where your product needs it most.

Your product shipped. Now it's stuck.

Most founders we meet aren't short on ideas. They're short on design leadership — and it shows up in the same four places.

  1. 01

    Activation is stuck

People sign up, then stall before they reach the moment that makes them stay.

  2. 02

    UI drift slows every release

No shared system, so every feature reinvents buttons, spacing and states — and QA catches it late.

  3. 03

    Nobody owns design

Designers or engineers ship UI without senior direction, and the quality bar moves every sprint.

  4. 04

    Decisions by opinion, not data

Roadmap calls go to whoever argues best. Nothing gets measured, so nothing gets learned.

Four services. One climb.

Each one works on its own, and they're designed to stack as your product grows.

  1. 01

    Product Design & UX

    • UX audit
    • Research
    • MVP
    • Redesign

Audits, user research and end-to-end product design for web and mobile — from first MVP to full redesign.

    When it fits

You're shipping an MVP, or the product works but users get lost on the way to value.

    What's included

    • UX audit of the product and its funnels
    • User interviews and usability testing
    • End-to-end flows for web and mobile
    • High-fidelity UI and prototypes
    • Handoff and design QA with engineering

    Typical deliverables

    • Audit with prioritized fixes
    • Research synthesis
    • Clickable prototypes
    • Production-ready Figma files
  2. 02

    Design Systems

    • Tokens
    • Components
    • Figma or code

One source of truth so your team ships faster without drifting. Tokens and components in Figma — or delivered straight in code when your team needs it.

    When it fits

Several squads or products, and the UI is drifting — every new feature takes longer than it should.

    What's included

    • Inventory of the existing UI
    • Tokens for color, type and spacing
    • Component library in Figma
    • Coded components in your stack, when the team needs them
    • Usage guidelines and documentation
    • Adoption plan with engineering

    Typical deliverables

    • Token set (Figma and/or code)
    • Component library — Figma, code or both
    • System documentation
    • Rollout roadmap
  3. 03

    Product-Led Growth

    • Funnels
    • A/B tests
    • Onboarding

Activation, conversion and retention. We design, test and iterate on the metric that matters to your board.

    When it fits

You have traction, but activation, conversion or retention has plateaued.

    What's included

    • Funnel and analytics review
    • Onboarding and activation redesign
    • Hypotheses and experiment backlog
    • A/B test design
    • Iteration on the results

    Typical deliverables

    • Prioritized experiment roadmap
    • Test-ready design variants
    • Experiment readouts
  4. 04

VP / Director / Head of Product Design

    • Fractional
    • Full-time
    • Team building

Senior design leadership at the level you need — vision, rituals, hiring and a team that scales. Fractional to start, full-time on request.

    When it fits

You need senior design leadership now, but a full-time hire is premature — or you're building the team that will take over.

    What's included

    • Design vision and roadmap
    • Rituals, critiques and quality bar
    • Hiring and onboarding designers
    • Process with product and engineering
    • Design narrative for leadership and board

    Typical deliverables

    • Design strategy
    • Team structure and hiring plan
    • Operating rituals

Built for founders and the teams around them.

  • Founders before product-market fit

You need to validate fast: research, an MVP and a test plan — without hiring a full design team.

  • Founders after fit

The product works. Now it needs growth, consistency and a system that keeps up with the team.

  • Companies maturing their product

Several products or squads that need one experience, one design system and a process that holds.

  • Teams without a design lead

Designers or engineers shipping UI without senior direction — and a founder who wants that to change.

Every engagement runs on North Face Growth.

The same four-step climb behind every case on this site. We start at the step your product is on.

  1. 01 Find what's blocking growth
  2. 02 Pick the bet
  3. 03 Ship it, built to scale
  4. 04 Measure, then iterate

Questions founders ask before the first call.

Who will I actually work with?

With Carlos, directly — the Head of Design behind products at Stori, Karta, Truora and Yaydoo. Comandos is an independent studio: some engagements are just him, others add hand-picked specialists in research, UI, motion or engineering for the length of the project. No account managers, no hand-offs to juniors.

Do you work with teams outside Mexico?

Yes. We're based in Mexico City on Central Time, which overlaps with business hours across the Americas. Everything runs remote-first, with teams in Latin America, the US or anywhere else.

How does the discovery call work?

Send the contact form and we'll reply within one business day to book 30 minutes on video. You tell us where the product is and what's blocking it; we tell you honestly whether we're a fit and which engagement makes sense. If there's a fit, you get a proposal with scope and timeline.

Do you work in English and Spanish?

Both. Workshops, research, documentation and design files run in whichever language your team and your users speak.

What tools do you use?

Figma for design and prototypes. Design systems can live in Figma or ship straight in code, in your stack, when your team needs it. For research and experimentation we work inside your stack — your analytics and testing tools — so everything stays with your team.

Can we start small?

Yes. An audit or a single sprint is a good way to test the fit before a longer engagement or a Head of Design role.

Ready for the next stage? Let's talk.

Tell us where your product is and where it needs to be. We reply within one business day.

  • Reply within one business day.
  • A 30-min call — no pitch deck needed.
  • In English or Spanish.
